Katayoun Riahi also known as “Katayoon Riahi/Katayun Riyahee” (born in 31/ Dec/1961) is a cinema and television actress.
Private life
Her parents are Shirazi-Gilani. Her father, Ardeshir Riahi, is an Orthopedist in Chamran Hospital in Shiraz. Her mother, Giti Riahi and her husband are one of the main share holders of the Evil Word Company. Katayoon Riahi is specialist in literature and humanity. His brother is Slireza Riahi who is also an actor.
Profession
Riahi started her profession by writing for children and entered cinema by the movie “Khabarchin”, but this movie was not completed. She was selected for the “Paeezan” movie. She was not much lucky in cinema that time, though she could get the attentions by acting the “Pedar Salar” serial which made her even more famous by acting in “Rozhaye Zendegi” serial which was followed by “Pas Az Baran” serial that made her a popular face . her acting in “Pas Az Baran” and “Shabe Dahome’ serials was outstanding .
After 5 years away from cinema she played her best role in the “Shame Akhar” movie for which she won the best actress prize in 20th Fajr Film Festival.
“In Zan Harf Nemizanad” was another movie in which she showed her talent in acting. She was again nominated for the best actress prize for this role in 7th ceremony of Cinema House.
Resignation from acting

Farajallah Salahshour, the director if this serial said: after acting in this serial, Mrs. Riahi said that she cannot stand the present atmosphere in the Cinema filed and she resigned. As she was all the time involved with Peace, spirituality, respect, and dignity in all the scenes during the shooting of this serial, she was not able to tolerate the other scenes in movies. She added: I don’t want to act anymore as I want the sweet taste of this serial to stay in my mouth forever.
